Shubham painted 2/3 of the wall space in his room. His sister Madhavi helped and painted 1/3 of the wall space. How much did they paint together ?

Solution:

Shubham painted 2/3 of the wall space in his room.

Madhavi painted 1/3 of the wall space.

Question 7.

The teacher taught 3/5 of the book. Mahesh revised 1/5 more on his own. How much does he still have to revise ?

Solution:

Teacher taught \(\frac{3}{5}\) of the book.

Mahesh revised \(\frac{1}{5}\) more on his own.

∴ Total part of the book revised by Mahesh

\(\frac{3}{5}+\frac{1}{5}=\frac{3+1}{5}=\frac{4}{5}\)

∴ He still have to revise

= \(1-\frac{4}{5}=\frac{5-4}{5}=\frac{1}{5}\)
